Monkeys - Babies - Thanksgiving

Today at the Danish school we had some visitors. These cute little monkeys like to come around and play in the trees. They were chasing each other, jumping from tree to tree and play fighting. It was quite a show.

After school today Sue, Alisha and I drove out to the Baby Home run by the Danish mission. There are sixteen children living there who were very friendly and eager to play. Sue had brought some beautiful blankets that were made by a women's group back in Canada. Each child got to pick their own. It was a lot of fun visiting and playing with the kids. Alisha and I plan to go back there often.

Sunday night we gathered together to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving. It also happened to coincide with Ugandan Independence Day. Earlier in the week we split up the dishes and were able to buy the necessary food while in Kampala on Saturday. Unfortunately buying a turkey would have involved transporting it live from Kampala to Masaka so we opted instead for frozen chickens. The meal was absolutely delicious complete with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, apple and pumpkin pie. It really was such a treat. The best part was that we had so many left overs, we decided to eat them all together again tonight. Mmmmmm. To everyone at home...Happy Thanksgiving!
